AVP, Planning Design & Construction
Charlie has been at Emory since 1983, most recently serving as Senior Associate Vice President for Health Sciences Center Space Planning and Construction, where he has overseen the programming, design and implementation of space planning and construction for the Health Sciences Center. He is responsible for the successful addition of over 1.8M square feet of clinical, research, teaching and administrative space to the Health Sciences Campus.
He directed several other units of the organization including serving as the Director of Graduate Medical Education, the Director of the Institutional Review Boards (both Human and Animal) and as Senior Associate VP for Health Sciences Development.
Charlie holds an undergraduate degree in Accounting and a Master of Public Administration degree from The Pennsylvania State University.
Charlie is a member of the Clifton Corridor Transportation & Management Association, the Campus Development Committee, co-chair of Sustainability in Health Sciences Task Force and co-chair of the WHSC Committee on Community and Diversity.
Charlie is a certified yoga instructor and works out regularly.
