The staff consists of highly trained, certified law enforcement officers supported by outstanding civilian employees, making the department one of the finest law enforcement agencies in the country.
Officers work in three major policing environments: suburban - the Atlanta campus in DeKalb County (which adjoins the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; urban - the Emory University Hospital Midtown campus in the city of Atlanta; and rural - the Oxford College campus in the city of Oxford.Specialized units consist of the Special Response Team, Criminal Investigations, Dignitary Protection, and Community Relations/Crime Prevention.
